Weather in La Jolla is ideal vacation weather. It is almost never hot and is rarely cold with very low humidity which is unusual for a coastal city. May through October are the best times to visit with high daytime temperature running 72 to 82 degrees Fahrenheit. Rain is infrequent but the typical rain periods are November through March with the highest rainfall in January. Although La Jolla CA boasts of warm, sunny days with a slight refreshing breeze, evening and night time become very cool even during the summer months. So it's always wise for vacationers to bring a light sweater or light jacket.
April through June are typically foggy early in the morning, but usually clears quickly to become glorious days. Fog that rolls in from the ocean can sometimes linger for longer periods.
